The Platform
The GetFixt Platform
GetFixt turns a single photograph of UK building equipment into a structured, evidence-backed event that benefits everyone in the supply chain at the same time. It is the connective tissue that converts unstructured property events into a permanent, neutral, commercially-attributable record.
Why GetFixt Exists
GetFixt turns a single photograph of UK building equipment into a structured, evidence-backed event that benefits everyone in the supply chain at the same time. Not a marketplace, not a directory, not a maintenance app. The connective tissue that converts unstructured property events into a permanent, neutral, commercially-attributable record.
The same photograph creates a job for the trade, a sale for the merchant, an installed-base data point for the manufacturer, a compliance entry for the owner, and an anonymised market signal for the wider industry.
Critically, identifying the product in situ means the platform can surface like-for-like replacements before anyone quotes. The manufacturer's exact replacement, alternatives and energy-rated upgrades are presented at the point of need - not after a site visit.
The GetFixt Journey
GetFixt Taxonomy
A consistent way to organise information across the entire built environment.
Buildings contain assets. Assets contain equipment. Equipment drives projects. Projects connect trades, products and manufacturers.
GetFixt Is An App. The Platform Is Everything Behind It.
GetFixt is five connected layers. The user interacts with one - the mobile app. Everything else runs behind it. This chapter covers the layers at a glance; chapter 5 goes deeper into each one.
iOS, Android and PWA where a photograph is taken.
The matching and workflow engine: visual identification, like-for-like replacement surfacing, job preparation, routing, quoting, messaging, sourcing, asset records and service reminders.
Operational control plane: verification, moderation, buying-group routing, partner management, audit and backups.
The intelligence layer: equipment, demand, sourcing, compliance and engagement datasets. Anonymised, consent-governed.
Monetisation and partnerships: lead credits, Pro subscriptions, buying-group agreements, partner placement, data licences.
Platform Architecture
One App.
Five Connected Layers.
Everything Starts With One Photograph
Every repair, maintenance task and upgrade begins with one question: what am I actually looking at? GetFixt answers that question with a photograph.
Stage 0 - Sign-up
Download from iOS App Store, Google Play, or use the PWA. Pick a role: homeowner, contractor, or wholesaler. Profile and consent state recorded.
Stage 1 - Job Intent Declared
The user picks one of four options: something is broken, maintenance and safety, install something new, or plan a renovation or fit-out.
Stage 2 - The Photograph
The user photographs equipment or a space. Single-equipment photos go to a vision model for identification. A consent gate runs before anything is persisted.
Produced
Brand, model, part number, equipment type, category, estimated age, condition, obsolescence flag, energy rating.
Kept Permanently
Equipment identification row, primary suggested replacement, alternatives, postcode area, AI notes.
Stage 3 - Job Preparation
The platform asks targeted follow-ups based on what was identified - symptoms, access, system details - so the contractor does not have to chase basic information.
The Complete Information Journey
Every project follows an information journey. Each stage creates information that improves the next. Nothing is captured twice.
Photograph
A photograph starts the journey.
Equipment Identification
GetFixt identifies the equipment and begins building an understanding of the project.
Equipment Analysis
Technical characteristics are assessed and additional information is gathered where required.
Adaptive Questions
Only the questions relevant to that specific project are asked.
Structured Project Brief
The information is organised into a clear, consistent project brief.
Trade Allocation
The correct trade or specialist is identified before quotations begin.
Quotation
Verified tradespeople receive a prepared project rather than an unstructured enquiry.
Compatible Products
Relevant products and suitable alternatives can now be recommended.
Merchant Branch Participation
Participating merchant branches can respond with product availability and pricing.
Installation
The work is completed and replacement products are installed where required.
Digital Property Record
The completed work permanently improves the building's maintenance history.
Platform Intelligence
Aggregated information helps improve future projects, products and commercial decisions.
Lead Unlock & Messaging
Contractor pays GBP 2.50 per lead or uses Pro subscription. Once unlocked, contractor and customer can message. Address stays hidden until acceptance.
Like-For-Like Replacement Matching
Identifying the equipment in situ means the platform immediately matches it to the manufacturer's exact replacement, compatible alternatives and energy-rated upgrades. The replacement is specified before anyone visits the site.
Parts Sourcing & Partner Placement
Contractor sends sourcing requests to branches. The platform surfaces like-for-like replacements from commercial partners - up to 4 slots per scan - based on the initial identification.
Quote, Compare & Accept
Contractor quotes (parts + labour). Customer compares side-by-side. On acceptance, the full address is revealed.
Work Completion & Permanent Record
Completion photo uploaded, equipment registered as a property asset. Everything is attached to the property, not the person - survives tenancy and ownership changes.
Information captured once.
Value created many times.
The Five Layers
One Simple App. Five Connected Platforms.
Five connected platforms work together behind the app. Each has a different responsibility. (Chapter 2 covers them at a glance; below is how they connect.)
The GetFixt App
Where people interact with GetFixt.
Operating Platform
The engine that coordinates every project.
Administration Platform
Ensuring information remains accurate and trusted.
Data Platform
Transforming projects into long-term knowledge.
Commercial Platform
Strengthening supply chains through better information.
Why This Matters
Most software solves one problem. GetFixt connects multiple systems so that one piece of information creates value throughout an entire project. That is why a simple experience for the user can support a sophisticated platform behind the scenes.
Visual Identification Technology
When a photograph is submitted, the platform sends it to a vision model that returns brand, model, part number, equipment type, category, estimated age, condition, obsolescence flag and certifications.
Like-For-Like Replacements
Identifying the product in situ means the platform immediately surfaces the manufacturer's exact replacement, compatible alternatives and energy-rated upgrades. This creates a procurement-ready specification before the first quote is written - the replacement is known before anyone visits the site.
Confidence Model
High Confidence
Automatically continue the information journey.
Medium Confidence
Request additional information to improve certainty.
Low Confidence
Escalate for review before progressing.
Identification Process
GetFixt does not replace professional judgement.
It provides better information so that better professional decisions can be made.
Preparing The Job Before Anyone Quotes
Most construction platforms begin with an enquiry. GetFixt begins with preparation. Before a tradesperson is invited to quote, the platform gathers targeted information based on what was identified - symptoms, access, system details.
Structured project brief includes:
The platform adapts the conversation to the specific project rather than asking every user a fixed list of questions.
Adaptive Project Preparation
Boiler
Lighting
EV Charger
Every project is different. The information journey should be different too.
The objective is to remove unnecessary uncertainty, not professional judgement.
The Digital Property Record
Most buildings lose information over time - equipment replaced, documents misplaced, people move on. GetFixt breaks that cycle by attaching every record to the property, not the person. The record survives tenancy, ownership and contractor changes.
What the Digital Property Record contains:
Property Identity
Asset Register with full equipment details
Equipment Scan Log
Replacement Decisions
Service & Maintenance History
Certificates & Compliance with expiry tracking
Warranties with reminders
Contractor Access Audit Trail
Quotes Received (full comparison history)
GDPR Export (download anytime)
The Information Never Starts Again
Knowledge accumulates over time. Each project makes the next one better informed.
Buildings do not remember. GetFixt helps create a permanent record so that every future decision can begin with better information.
The Intelligence Created By Every Project
Every completed project creates knowledge. Each photograph, identified asset and product selection contributes to a growing body of structured information.
